In many local communities, food waste and unsustainable packaging practices pose significant environmental and social challenges. Excessive food waste leads to landfill overflow, while unsustainable packaging materials exacerbate pollution and resource depletion. This project aims to address these issues by exploring eco-friendly practices and designing a solution to contribute to a more sustainable food ecosystem.

Purpose of the App


Replenish is a comprehensive solution designed to make sustainable grocery shopping and waste reduction simple, accessible, and rewarding for residents of Rural Virginia.


Key Features:


  1. Sustainable Packaging: Groceries are delivered in eco-friendly, reusable packaging, helping to reduce food and packaging waste.

  2. Convenient Grocery Delivery: The app connects users with local drivers who deliver fresh, locally-sourced groceries directly to their homes, ensuring convenience and sustainability.

  3. Trash Collection System: Users can schedule trash pickups at convenient times and locations, which is particularly beneficial in areas with limited waste management infrastructure.

  4. Rewards Program: Users earn reward points for every waste-reducing action taken through the app, which can be redeemed for discounts on future purchases.
